Scope and Process
HMRC tax returns and Companies House statutory filings are separate obligations. Corporation Tax Returns and VAT Returns rely on financial records; Dormant Accounts depend on the company meeting the dormant conditions for the relevant period; and a Confirmation Statement verifies the company's registered information each year. First Choice Bookkeeping assesses each request against the relevant period, document requirements and statutory deadline.
Corporation Tax, VAT returns, dormant filings and annual filing items are handled with record discipline in mind.
- Assessment of the correct filing service for the company's position
- Corporation Tax Return preparation and HMRC filing support
- VAT period record review and VAT Return preparation
- Dormant Accounts filing for eligible companies
- Annual Confirmation Statement review and Companies House filing
- Tracking of missing information, deadlines and customer actions

What is covered in filing support?
The main workstreams we prepare, coordinate and deliver as part of the service.
Initial review and correct service selection
We check the accounting period, VAT position, Companies House dates and trading history. Dormant filing is not used for a company that does not meet the conditions, and a VAT Return is not opened for a company without an active VAT registration.
Records and data preparation
Depending on the service, we collect bank activity, sales and expense records, previous returns, VAT-period information or changes to the company register. Missing or conflicting information is raised before submission.
Review, submission and follow-up
Once the prepared filing is confirmed, it is submitted to the relevant authority. Acceptance, correction requests and further-information requirements remain tracked against the same service order.
